Good news! The leading domestic scientific and technical journal in the oil and fat industry, “China Oils and Fats,” has just published in its second issue of 2018 the technological achievement of Dadi Company: “A Novel Two-Step Process for Biodiesel Production Involving Drying Pre‑treatment and Acid‑Splitting.” This cutting‑edge domestic breakthrough is another significant innovation attained by all of Dadi’s researchers under the guidance of national experts in the biodiesel sector. It stands as a testament to the strength of Dadi’s R&D team and the collective wisdom of its members—truly worthy of celebration!

China Oils and Fats (monthly), founded in 1976, is a national-level Class A academic journal of paramount importance in China’s oil and fat industry and a core journal indexed by the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD). It is currently included in prestigious databases such as Chemical Abstracts (CA) in the United States. The journal has been recognized with awards including “Journal Used for Statistics on Chinese Scientific Papers,” the First Prize for Outstanding Scientific Journals from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, and the title of “China’s High-Quality Scientific Journal.” It enjoys well‑established technical authority within both domestic and international oil and fat chemical industries.

When producing biodiesel via chemical methods, conventional processes generate substantial amounts of wastewater. With the increasing emphasis on environmental protection, the large volume of wastewater treatment has become a major technical bottleneck hindering production and development. The technical team at Dadi Company has invented and innovated a new process for biodiesel production that combines dry‑based pretreatment with a two‑step acid‑separation method. This process involves subjecting the feedstock oil to dry‑method impurity removal, oleic acid separation, and separate esterification and transesterification steps, followed by acid–base neutralization, ultimately yielding compliant biodiesel. The new approach significantly reduces wastewater discharge, minimizes pollution, and lowers costs, effectively addressing a pressing challenge in the industry.
