A warm welcome to Professor Yin Fushan for his lecture at our company.

To enhance our employees’ industry awareness and deepen their understanding of the bioeconomy, the company has invited Professor Yin Fushan—recipient of the National Invention Award, a recipient of the State Council Government Special Allowance, and an expert in the field of fine chemicals—to deliver a lecture at our premises. The lecture will cover cutting-edge biotechnologies, trends in the biofuels market, modern advanced biotechnologies, the global landscape of biofuel development, the glycerol market and its prospects, as well as urban waste‑management technologies.
Senior R&D Consultant (Professor) Yin Fushan

Key Experience:
From 1957 to 1963, he studied polymer science at Peking University and was subsequently assigned to work at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In August 1971, he was transferred to the Research Institute of Daily Chemicals under the Ministry of Light Industry. From 1987 to 1991, he served as Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Daily Chemicals. In 1992, he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at Wuxi University of Light Industry as its Head, and currently holds the position of Honorary Head of the department.
He serves as an executive director of the China Detergent Industry Association, chair of the Teaching Steering Committee for Fine Chemical Engineering in national light‑industry institutions, vice president of the Jiangsu Society of Daily Chemicals, a contributing reviewer for the U.S. journal Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, and a member of the editorial boards of several national publications, including Daily Chemical Industry, Science of Daily Chemical Products, and Surfactant Industry.
In the 1970s, Professor Yin Fushan developed a catalyst for the catalytic dehydrogenation of n-alkanes, providing strong support for the production of linear alkylbenzene in China. This achievement was awarded the Third Prize of the National Invention Award by the State Science and Technology Commission in 1985.
In the 1980s, Professor Yin Fushan was twice dispatched by the Chinese government to Columbia University in the United States for both research and study. He refined Gibbs’s rules of stoichiometry, introduced the concept of linear dependence in chemical reaction systems, and developed a method for distinguishing between stoichiometric constraints and additional constraints. He published six papers in this field.
From 1989 to 1992, he was appointed Director of a national project supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In 1990 and 1992, he successfully organized the first and second International Symposia on Surfactants and Detergents held in China, respectively. In 1993 and 1997, he also convened two National Academic Conferences on Daily Chemicals. In 1995, he was dispatched by the government for the third time to the University of Florida as a visiting scholar, thereby expanding his research interests to surface chemistry and materials science.
His research group has successfully developed a novel surfactant that significantly enhances both the processability and mechanical properties of PVC composites filled with high loadings of CaCO3. They have also created a lead‑containing PMMA capable of incorporating up to 25% PbO, which exhibits outstanding radiation‑shielding performance along with excellent optical and mechanical properties. Furthermore, they pioneered the application of surfactants in cement grouting and seepage control, and they have developed a catalyst for the chemical reaction of fatty alcohol amines that meets international standards.
Since 1997, Professor Yin Fushan has collaborated with the Malaysian Palm Oil Research Institute to develop comprehensive utilization technologies for palm oil and its processed products, yielding a series of research achievements.
In recognition of Professor Yin Fushan’s outstanding contributions to science, he was awarded the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the Ministry of Light Industry and the Third Prize for Invention by the State. In 1989, he was honored by the Ministry of Light Industry as an expert with distinguished contributions, and in 1990, he was further recognized by the Ministry of Personnel as a young and mid-career expert with exceptional contributions. In 1991, he was among the first group of returned overseas scholars to receive commendation from both the Ministry of Personnel and the State Education Commission for their remarkable achievements.

Teacher Yin is seventy-eight years old this year, yet he still perseveres in studying for several hours each day. His health is robust, and his mind remains sharp—truly no small feat! This, too, is a joyful way of life; it is precisely in such pursuits that the true value of one’s life lies. He is indeed a role model worthy of admiration and emulation.
