Detailed Introduction
Marine heavy oil refers to the low-fat fuel oil (commonly known as heavy oil) which is of low quality, difficult to use and low price.
Heavy oil has the following outstanding characteristics.
(1) High density. The density of heavy oil can reach 0.94~1.06g/cm3, which causes difficulties in fuel purification and atomization, and at the same time, the oil droplets are easy to produce thermal cracking when burning, resulting in an increase in the number of engine parts.
(2) high viscosity. The viscosity of heavy oil is between 50～2000㎜2/s, which causes difficulties in fuel storage, transportation, purification and atomization.
(3) Complex composition. Heavy oil contains more water, ash and impurities such as sulfur, vanadium, sodium, silicon and carbon residue. The impurities in the oil aggravate the corrosion and wear of diesel engine combustion chamber components and oil injection equipment components.
(4) poor pyrophoricity.
